Submissions are to be no more than 1000 words, excluding charts/graphs, tables, photographs, videos, and information fields.

Your submission will include the following:

• Project summary (included in the word limit).

• Description outlining how the project demonstrates or achieves the criteria for the Award, outcomes, and positive impacts to the community.

• Three photos as separate jpeg files.

• Additional supporting material (optional).

All entries must be submitted online by Sunday 28 February 2027, 11.59pm AEST.

• Which Austroads’ material, guidance or tools were used during the project, and how they were used?

• Outline measurable outcomes and/or long-lasting and positive impact for the council and community through:

  • metrics (before/after where available)

  • qualitative outcomes (community, safety, efficiency).

Entry into this Award is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, the decisions of Austroads and that you satisfy all eligibility requirements.

Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions includes the following: 

• Winners agree to attend the ALGA National General Assembly 2027 and purchase a registration ticket for the Conference Gala Dinner if they do not already have a Gala Dinner ticket included in their conference registration.

• Winners agree to nominate up to two project representatives to attend the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) National Local Roads, Transport and Infrastructure Congress 2027 and present on their winning project. Attendance, flights and accommodation of nominated representative(s) will be sponsored by Austroads.
